Project Opportunity gives 'Gift of Hope'
November 3, 2008It’s a dream come true for some special young people – job training and a permanent job at a major medical center. But these young people are different from other young adults. They are disabled. At Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, Project Opportunity is a unique program that helps young adults, too old for the state’s education program, move into the adult world, with a job, a paycheck, benefits and a place to belong. One parent says it is a “gift of hope.” Barb Cramer has the story in this Vanderbilt video news release.
