picture of Dr. DeAngelisVanderbilt Sports Medicine and the Sports Medicine/Shoulder Surgery Fellowship Program are pleased to announce Joseph DeAngelis, MD will be joining us as our 2008-09 fellow on August 1. Dr. DeAngelis is a 2003 graduate of University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. He will complete a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT in June. He enjoys running, sculpting and snowboarding.


Alex Diamond, DO
Fellow, Primary Care Sports Medicine
July 1, 2007 - Jun 30, 2009

pic of alex diamondDr. Diamond received his DO degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Dr. Diamond recently became engaged to Anne Marie Chicorelli, an orthopaedic resident in Philadelphia. His interests include sports, photography, hiking and music.

 


Brian Fissel, MD

pic of kurtis staplesDr. Fissel received his undergraduate education here at Vanderbilt University.  He grew up in the Chicago area.  He is a graduate of Medical University of Ohio. He performed his general surgery internship at Loyola University Medical Center and orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Louis University Medical Center. He is engaged to Elizabeth Kienzle who lives here in Nashville. His interests include golf, baseball (Chicago Cubs), and beer tasting.


William Hakeos, MD
Instructor/ Trauma Division

pic of William Hakeos, MDDr. Hakeos received his undergraduate education at University of Michigan, after growing up in Ida, Michigan.  He is a graduate of University of Michigan Medical School.  He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. He enjoys baseball and running.

 


Kristina Wilson, MD
Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellow
July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009

Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program are pleased to announce Kristina Wilson, MD as our 2008-09 clinical fellow. Dr. Wilson is a 2005 graduate of University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, NV. She will complete a pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ in June. Dr. Wilson is married to a family practice physician who will be joining her in Nashville. She enjoys athletics, especially swimming and running, music, piano and clarinet.
