In this clinic, we will
see and evaluate patients with musculoskeletal complaints. For those
patients who may need consideration for surgical management, every
effort is made to facilitate the scheduling of those patients into
the appropriate subspecialty clinic.
Follow up care is provided in this clinic for those
general orthopaedic patients whose management should be non-operative.
Special emphasis is provided for appropriate rehabilitation with
the goal of return to maximum functional abilities.
The amputee-prosthetic clinic
once monthly provides for an interdisciplinary program for this
group of patients, We meet with prosthetists and orthotists, rehabilitation
nursing, and physical and occupational therapists to jointly consider
and prescribe for prosthetic and orthotic needs of upper and lower
limb amputees.
In addition to providing for evaluation and orthopaedic
management of adult cerebral palsy patients,
we also evaluate patients with other neuromuscular disorders in
this clinic.
