Steven joined the Vanderbilt faculty in September of 2003 as an Associate in Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation for the Department of Orthopaedics. He is working as a Physician Assistant for the Orthopaedic Trauma Center. Steven completed his training through the U.S. Army's Physician Assistant Program and received a Bachelors of Science as a Physician Associate from the University of Oklahoma in 1991. He later received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies with specialization in Orthopaedics from the University of Nebraska in 1997. After 4 years as a Primary Care Physician Assistant with the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne Division and the 5th Special Forces Group, he was selected for and completed the U.S. Army's one-year Physician Assistant Fellowship in Orthopaedics in 1996. He served 2 years as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant in Wurzberg Germany before retiring from the U.S. Army in 1998 after 23 years of service. He worked in Hickory, North Carolina for 3 years and Oneida, Tennessee for 2 years prior to coming to Vanderbilt.
