Steven Polasky, PA-CSteven Polasky, PA-C

Steven joined the Vanderbilt faculty in September of 2003 as an Associate in Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation for the Department of Orthopaedics. He is working as a Physician Assistant for the Orthopaedic Trauma Center. Steven completed his training through the U.S. Army's Physician Assistant Program and received a Bachelors of Science as a Physician Associate from the University of Oklahoma in 1991. He later received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies with specialization in Orthopaedics from the University of Nebraska in 1997. After 4 years as a Primary Care Physician Assistant with the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne Division and the 5th Special Forces Group, he was selected for and completed the U.S. Army's one-year Physician Assistant Fellowship in Orthopaedics in 1996. He served 2 years as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant in Wurzberg Germany before retiring from the U.S. Army in 1998 after 23 years of service. He worked in Hickory, North Carolina for 3 years and Oneida, Tennessee for 2 years prior to coming to Vanderbilt.

Tisha BarzykTisha Barzyk, MSN, APN, ACNP-BC

Tisha joined the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute in August 2007, where she will work in the Orthopaedic Trauma division as a Nurse Practitioner. She attended Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she obtained a master of science degree in nursing with focus as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining us, she spent nine years on the Trauma Intensive Care Unit here at Vanderbilt where she worked as both a staff nurse and a charge nurse. Tisha has additional nursing experience in emergency care. Her outside interests include traveling, scuba diving and painting.
