SUMMER
2000
The nematode
worm C. elegans has captured the interest of a whole new
group of investigators. They call themselves the VUrm group, and
they are using the worm to tackle questions about ion channel
and transporter physiology.
A new small
animal vivarium will be constructed atop the six-story Werthan
building and renovations to existing Medical Center North facilities
will begin in the fall.
Craig Carmichel,
director of Finance for Academic and Research, translated some
of the financial terminology related to research funding for faculty
leaders at a research.
