The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality funds 27 institutions located across the country, which in turn recruit and train predoctoral and/or postdoctoral health services researchers. The objective of this program is to support postdoctoral fellows who have completed their residency training or Ph.D.s in the health sciences for 1 to 3 years each to pursue a career in health services research.

The program at Vanderbilt is comprised of two major components:
  • Participation in the M.P.H. program which includes a mentored research apprenticeship.
  • Participation in formal career development and mentoring activities.
The program takes advantage of strong collaborations between Vanderbilt and the State Health Department and Meharry Medical College.
