Laura is the Director of Administrative Operations for VMG, and in this capacity, serves as Director for the VMG EMR Team as well. She first came to Vanderbilt in 2000, serving as Administrator for the Asthma Sinus Allergy Program (ASAP). Laura joined VMG Administration in 2002, with the E3 initiative being one of her primary responsibilities since that time. Her background includes 19 years in physician practice operations, in the consulting industry as well as direct practice management.

Colleen has been working with the Electronic Medical Record in some capacity since she began her career at Vanderbilt in 2003 after graduating from the university. As the EMR Project Manager, Colleen coordinates clinic-wide efforts such as signature pad implementation, surgery scheduling processes and other global projects, working closely with Informatics to help develop new tools for electronic documentation. She also coordinates the procurement and placement of computer hardware for new clinics and/or ones that are moving. Colleen is providing interim coverage for the Opthalmology Clinic.

Marvin Palmer

Marvin came to the EMR team in September 2005 after spending 2 years with the Heart Transplant program as a data manager, working on their electronic systems and facilitating their conversion to an electronic charting system from paper. As a Data Analyst, Marvin primarily focuses on support of EMR project efforts through creation of targeted reports on key progress indicators. Additionally, Marvin handles many outreach efforts - including teaching StarPanel classes, coordination of StarPanel User Group, development of training materials and this website.

Prior to coming to the EMR Team in May 2006, Alyce spent 27 years in the Department of Psychiatry and was the departmental champion in the E3 implementation. Her longtime interest in maintaining quality assurance in patient documentation is a perfect match for her current Administrator responsibilities in the design and development of StarForms, and oversight of scanning policies, procedures, and training.

Marla has 16 years nursing experience, working at VUMC over the past 15 years. Her expansive background within VUMC includes work in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit, the Cardiovascular clinic, and in System Support Services. Marla currently supports the following clinic areas:

Lisa is an EMR Specialist who began her nursing career in June of 1989. She came to Vanderbilt in March of 1992. Since 2002, she has focused on VUMC EMR training, education, and implementation. Her prior background includes Emergency Department nursing at both Johns Hopkins Hospital and VUMC. She has extensive Cardiac Nursing experience as a former Lead Charge Nurse of the VUMC Cath Lab and as a nurse within the Cardiac and Thoracic clinic. Her clinical background includes disease management, wellness education/lifestyle coaching, school nursing, triage and quality assurance. She has extensive experience with electronic medical record systems and functioned in an EMR Specialist/QA role for several years prior to coming to Vanderbilt. Angie Harris

Angie manages the support for all common systems as well as department specific software and their integration into the clinical process, while advocating for Pediatric specific initiatives in the design and modifications of these systems. Her association with Peds has been synonomous with her career at Vanderbilt, beginning with Pediatric Endocrinology in 1997. Joining the Pediatric Clinical Administration team in 2004, she has the opportunity to play an integral role in the relocation of the Children's Outpatient facilities into their new location in the DOT of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Her experience lies in management, IT suppor and project management in both healthcare and daycare center areas.

Pamela works with the Pediatric Informatics Team as a Coordinator of Office Technology. Pamela came to Vanderbilt in 1992 after being in the legal field as a paralegal for many years. She started her career at Vanderbilt in the adult Dermatology department, then transferred a few years later to the VMG Training Department as a Trainer and was on board when Epic was first implemented at Vanderbilt. She was Program Coordinator and helped manage the Patient & Family Care Program in the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center for six years, working with patients and their families and managing the volunteers for that program. She returned to VMG Training as a support trainer for Epic and Hyperspace in 2004, and came on board with the Children's Hospital Outpatient Care Informatics Team in February 2007 where she helps support StarPanel, RxStar and a variety of staff, computer and equipment related issues for pediatric outpatient clinics.

Mike works with the Pediatric Informatics Team as a Coordinator of Office Technology. Mike came to Vanderbilt in 2007 after a successful career as a business consultant. He brings with him the experience of information management systems implementations and project management skills from a global perspective within the pharmaceutical arena. He started his career at Vanderbilt in the VMG Training department as a support trainer for Epic Hyperspace and Star Panel for the adult outpatient clinics, and has obtained the designation of EPIC Proficiency. Mike came on board with the Children's Hospital Outpatient Care Informatics Team in June 2008 where he assists in the support of StarPanel, RxStar and a variety of staff, computer and equipment related issues for pediatric outpatient clinics.
