Musculoskeletal Radiology
Faculty: Jake Block, M.D. (Section Chief), Jeremy Kaye, M.D. (Chairman and Professor of Radiology), Martin Jordanov, M.D., Paul Nance, M.D. and David Taber, M.D.
The section consists of four Board Certified Radiologists with particular interest in musculoskeletal and emergency radiologic diagnosis and procedures. In addition to inpatient services at Vanderbilt University Hospital and The Vanderbilt Clinic, we provide radiologic services for the Vanderbilt Orthopedic Institute. In addition, we are responsible for providing and coordinating radiologic service for the Emergency Department at Vanderbilt University Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, with a receiving area including Middle Tennessee, Northern Alabama, and Southern Kentucky. Procedures performed by our section in the hospital setting include arthrograms and joint aspirations, MR arthrograms, bone biopsies and osteoid osteoma ablations.
The research interests of our section include trauma radiology, tumors, arthritis, and the radiographic evaluation of experimental orthopedic devices. These interests include collaborative projects with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Division of Rheumatology at Vanderbilt.
Members of the section are actively involved in teaching programs at the medical student, resident, and postgraduate levels. We participate in national and international meetings including those sponsored by the Department of Radiology and other professional societies.
This section offers two MSK fellowship positions in musculoskeletal radiology.
