Conference to explore advances in biomedical imaging

5/22/2009 - The Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science will host an international conference, “Frontiers of Biomedical Imaging Science,” June 2-5 at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center.

The meeting will bring together researchers from various sub-fields of imaging sciences to review the current state of the art and potential future applications.

Speakers will include Bernard Bendriem, Ph.D., vice president of science and technology at Siemens Medical Imaging in Knoxville, who will discuss advances in computed tomography (CT) and hybrid instrumentation; and Craig Malloy, M.D., medical director of the Advanced Imaging Research Center at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Peter Choyke, M.D., chief of the Molecular Imaging Program at the National Cancer Institute, Maryellen Giger, Ph.D., professor of Radiology at the University of Chicago and 20 other renowned imaging experts, including several from Vanderbilt.
