10/16/2009 - Donna Seger, M.D., associate professor of Emergency Medicine and director of the Tennessee Poison Center, recently received the Award for Distinguished Service by the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT) at the North American Congress of Clinical Toxicology in San Antonio.
It is the highest award given by the academy to a practicing toxicologist. Seger also received the Louis Roche Award last May. This award is the highest presented by the European Association of Clinical Toxicologists.
She was invited to deliver the Louis Roche Lecture at the 28th international congress of the European Association of Poison Centers and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT) in Seville, Spain.
The lectureship and accompanying award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of clinical toxicology.
Seger was recognized for her contributions in collaboration and education.
