Anesthesiology

Medical Students

Medical student eduction is an integral element of the mission of the Department of Anesthesiology.  An array of clinical electives, lectures, critical skills workshops and research opportunities enable students to gain knowledge and develop clinical skills that are the foundation of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. Whether it is in the intensive care unit, the pain clinic or in the operating room, students experience the application of pharmacology, anatomy and physiology in a real life, fast-moving setting. Student may shadow faculty anesthesiologists for a day or commit to a month-long clinical rotation or research project.

We encourage all students considering anesthesiology as a career path to join the Anesthesiology Interest Group and explore all that this specialty has to offer.

We look forward to meeting you!
