In addition to participating in departmental lectures for residents, Grand Rounds and M&M, students will be provided with a textbook, Basics of Anesthesia, 5th edition, and The Difficult Airway Course manual for use during the elective. Students will keep the SEA curriculum cards and a departmental manual that are given at the beginning of the course. Student-specific lectures will also be given during the course. Each student will take one evening call and one weekend day call to provide exposure to anesthesia for trauma and emergency surgery. Availability from July to December will be competitive due to space limitations, so priority during these months will be given to those considering anesthesiology as a career choice. Interested visiting students should include a CV, transcript and USMLE scores.
