"Uptake/distribution of inhaled anesthetics and a history of anesthesia, including MAC"
The Vanderbilt Department of Anesthesiology is hosting a special lecture by Edmond "Ted" Eger II, MD, a world-wide authority on inhaled anesthetics and their pharmacokinetics and actions in the brain and spinal cord.
Known as the developer of one of the foundational concepts of anesthesiology, minimum alveolar concentration or "MAC," Dr. Eger first published ground-breaking research outlining MAC in 1965. This prolific investigator has since published more than 500 original manuscripts in high-impact journals.
