Sharon Mullins joined the Innovation Integration Center in September 2011 as a Project Manager.  Prior to joining the department, Sharon worked as a quality consultant with emphasis in chronic disease management in the areas of cardiology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, endocrinology, hypertension and stroke for more than 10 years.  She also has extensive background in Evidence-Based Medicine, Risk Management Sentinel Event resolution, as well as served as a Certified Institutional Review Board HealthCare Professional.

Prior to entering the field of Health Care Quality and Project Management, Sharon spent over 20 years in the area of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and served as the Nurse Coordinator for a large In Vitro program in the south.  During this time she became interested in process and improvement and project management as she examined the complex processes needed to manage in vitro treatment cycles; education, psychosocial screening, daily follicular monitoring, oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer.  Her efforts to standardize care while delivering a personal Plan of Care was instrumental in the success of the In Vitro Program.

Sharon's focus is assisting the organization in creating new innovations and managing projects that will improve the experiences of patients and staff members and enhance the strategies of VMG.  Sharon is currently leading all the project initiatives for Excellence in Patient & Caregiver Engagement.
