David Uskavitch, MDDr. Uskavitch functions as Assistant Chief Informatics Officer (ACMIO) to Dr. Jim JIrjis. Dr. Uskavitch has been working with Jim Jirjis and the I2 team since July 2011. He earned his B.A. degree (with distinction) from the University of Virginia College of Arts and Sciences in 1980 and his M.A.T. degree in Biology from the University of Virginia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1981. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1987. He completed his internship in medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1988. He completed his residency in neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1991. Dr. Uskavitch began private practice in neurology with Neurologic Consultants at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee in 1991. Dr. Uskavitch served as president of Neurologic Consultants from 1997-2007. He joined the Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt and moved his practice to The Vanderbilt Clinic in February of 2007.
Dr. Uskavitch currently serves as Director of the Division of General Neurology, Clinical Director of the Neurology Clinic, The Vanderbilt Clinic and Assistant Chief Medical Information Officer on the VMG Innovation Integration team. He is board certified in Neurology. His clinical interest is in the practice of general neurology with special interest in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and migraine.
Dr. Uskavitch is leading all the project initiatives for Excellence in Documentation.
