Tips and Helpful Hints:
Always use a Facsimile Cover Sheet when faxing;
Never put Social Security Numbers (SSN) in emails;
Never share your User ID and Password;
Dispose of Patient Health Information (PHI) in shredding bins only;
Lock or Log-Off of your computer when you walk away from your computer.
The Privacy Buzz is a one page poster created and distributed monthly by the Privacy Office to raise awareness about protecting the privacy and confidentiality of patient information. The Privacy Buzz offers information about new and revised policies, timely topics related to the privacy and security of patient information and helpful hints and tips.
Please post the Privacy Buzz on your unit bulletin board as a reminder of best practices. You are encouraged to discuss the content at staff meetings. If you have any questions with regard to any of the topics found in the Privacy Buzzes or want to suggest a topic for an upcoming issue, please do not hesitate to contact the Privacy Office.
