Safety Fair

Hour by hour, across the Medical Center, each one of us makes the difference between a safe or unsafe environment.  Annual safety and competency requirements force us to concentrate for a few minutes on ways we can keep the Medical Center safe.

As we are reminded of the right way to do things, and as we improve the way we work, we make the Medical Center safer - for ourselves, our patients, and visitors.  It's the right thing to do, and a topnotch medical center requires it.  It's who we are.

Safety Fair LIVE

3 DAYS ONLY

We are introducing a new Safety Fair format!!!!

We will provide 3 DAYS of Clinical Stations (Point-of- Care Testing, Mock Code, Restraint Competency & Occupational Health)

We will have only ONE day (Monday, Sept. 28th) of live Universal Stations (Infection Control, Ergonomics, Personal Safety, Accident & Injury Prevention, Hazard Communication, Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness)

  •  Bring your ID badge to swipe when you finish a station.
  • Computers & assistance at Safety Fair LIVE to help you
complete training for Safety Fair ONLINE

If you are not sure which requirements you need to complete, ask your supervisor.    Annual Requirements must be completed before your Performance Evaluation in 2010.

If you went through Hearts & Minds orientation after May 1, 2009, you do not need to complete annual requirements at Safety Fair LIVE or Safety Fair ONLINE this spring.

EXCEPT STAFF WHO DO POINT-OF-CARE TESTING.  Exactly one year after your last training, your access code for glucometers expires and is turned off.  So, if you attended Clinical Orientation between February 2009 and September 2009, you should attend Spring Safety Fair to be retrained in order to keep your access current.  If you wait till Fall 2010, you will be out of compliance and your access will be terminated.

Compliance

Licensed personnel must maintain current licensure and all required job specific certifications; i.e. BLS, ACLS, etc.

You also must be in full compliance with Medical Center policies and regulations.
