Cell Imaging Core provides Confocal, Electron, Widefield, and Image Processing equipment for use in medical research studies by various faculty, staff, and students.
Diet & Nutrition Assessment CORE provides expertise in the design, processing, data collection, assessment; analysis of all forms of dietary and nutrient intake: foods, beverages, dietary supplements, liquid nutrition supplements, tube feedings, parenteral support, and medications.
DNA Resources Core provides services in human DNA extraction, DNA sample banking, genotyping, and other services that support molecular genetics studies.
The DNA Sequencing Core uses state-of-the-art technology and methodology to produce high quality DNA sequences in a time span of 1-2 business days.
Energy Balance & Nutrition Core offers various analytical techniques to evaluate energy expenditure, energy intake, physical activity, and body composition to investigators researching relations between nutrition, physical activity, and health and nutrition-related conditions and diseases.
Institute of Imaging brings together a strong faculty of imaging scientists with diverse backgrounds and broad expertise in a comprehensive, integrated program dedicated to using imaging to improve health care and advance knowledge in the biological sciences.
Islet Procurement and Analysis Core provides access to isolated pancreatic islets from normal and diabetic models.
Mass Spectrometry Core The Mass Spectrometry Research Center (MSRC) brings state-of-the-art mass spectrometry expertise, methodology, and instrumentation to the research and clinical infrastructure of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Core advances research in the area of diabetes and obesity by providing novel experimental tools to the scientific community for phenotyping mouse transgenic models of diabetes, obesity and related disorders.

Proteomics Core provides state-of the-art MS instrumentation and analytical methods to analyze proteins and proteomes. New, high performance MS instruments and expertise in multiple analytical approaches provide exceptional flexibility in analytical proteomics approaches.
Research Electron Microscopy provides electron microscopy (embedding and sectioning, critical point drying, high res low angle and rotary shadowing, and cryo-IVEM; immuno- and enzyme- cytochem, autoradiography, and whole-mount microscopy; on- and off-line microcomputer systems for image processing, pattern analysis, 3-D reconstruction).
Transgenic Mouse Shared Resource assists investigators in the production and use of transgenic and gene knockout mice and strives to provide services at prices that are both below those that are commercially available, and that are either difficult or impossible to obtain elsewhere.
