The Academy for Excellence in Teaching was established in November of 2006. Our Founding membership is comprised of 44 Distinguished Medical Educators. Lillian Nanney, Ph.D. serves as the Founding Director. The Academy provides a forum to foster higher levels of participation and promote excellence and scholarship in the delivery of medical education.

Mission Statement:
The Academy is a collective of outstanding teaching faculty and those highly engaged in the educational mission, who seek to honor and to serve as we strive to have a significant impact on the Educational Enterprise within the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
