- first and foremost - a sharpened brain, then
- a reflex hammer
- pen light
- stethoscope
- tongue depressors
- safety pins - dx small v large fiber neuropathies
- pocket visual activity card (i.e. Snellen chart)
- ophthalmoscope
- tuning fork (128 Hz)
- cotton swabs or saline "bullets"
- soap and or coffee beans in a small container (for testing smell)
Procedures
Students rotating through Clinical Neurology should perform:
- Funduscopic examinations on all the patients they admit and present during attending rounds
