CFAR Home

The Vanderbilt Meharry Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) catalyzes research to end the HIV epidemic. We operate on competitively awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Because racial/ethnic and resource disparities now fuel the ongoing HIV epidemic, we aim to understand the mechanisms of these disparities in order to end them.

Our CFAR serves all HIV researchers at our institutions and strives to advance all aspects of HIV/AIDS basic and translational science. We also seek to grow partnerships in community-engaged research. We provide scientific leadership and enhance collaborative productivity of faculty between our two very dynamic institutions. You can find more information in the links to the left.
