Developmental Core
The purpose of the Developmental Core is to support Vanderbilt University and Meharry Medical College faculty who are interested in intering into the field of HIV/AIDS research. We expect that these individuals will complement and enhance existing personnel and resources within the center. The Developmental Core programs include grants for Interdisciplinary HIV/AIDS Research Projects and New HIV/AIDS Research Pilot Projects. The core encourages both junior and established faculty at Vanderbilt and Meharry to pursue funding through these programs. It is anticipated that these peer-reviewed seed grants will help leverage the future success of investigators who are new to HIV research into successfully competing for NIH HIV/AIDS funding. >This Core also provides educational and mentoring opportunities.
