Developmental Core

OVERVIEW

Developmental Core Services

The purpose of the Developmental Core is to support Vanderbilt University and Meharry Medical College faculty who are interested in intering into the field of HIV/AIDS research. We expect that these individuals will complement and enhance existing personnel and resources within the center. The Developmental Core programs include grants for Interdisciplinary HIV/AIDS Research Projects and New HIV/AIDS Research Pilot Projects. The core encourages both junior and established faculty at Vanderbilt and Meharry to pursue funding through these programs. It is anticipated that these peer-reviewed seed grants will help leverage the future success of investigators who are new to HIV research into successfully competing for NIH HIV/AIDS funding.  This Core also provides educational and mentoring opportunities.
