The Shade Tree Clinic
A student initiative
More than 120 students volunteer each month at the Shade Tree Clinic. Third- and fourth-year medical students see patients and present cases to attending physician volunteers. First- and second-year medical students to shadow third- and fourth-year students and hold leadership positions such as clinic director, pharmacy director, community outreach director, social work coordinator, and clinic coordinator.
The clinic is run entirely by Vanderbilt medical students, with help from Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University health students.
