The Vanderbilt Familial Colorectal Cancer Clinic is designed to assist individuals and their family members in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing surveillance of inheritable colorectal cancer syndromes such as;
Our mission is to prevent unnecessary deaths from colon and rectal cancer by providing education, screening, surveillance, treatment, patient advocacy, and genetic counseling and testing. Various medical specialties such as gastroenterology, oncology, radiation oncology, gynecology, medical genetics, and surgeons are needed to provide the proper care for families with an inherited colorectal cancer syndrome. At the high risk clinic, which is held monthly, patients will be able to consult with specialists and also complete any tests or procedures that are necessary for proper surveillance.
