Nursing Education and Professional Development can guide you through the process of planning and executing an event that provides CNE contact hours to the Vanderbilt nursing community. As an approved provider by Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), we have compiled information to steer you through the entire CNE process—from writing the objectives, to planning your event, to completing the appropriate CNE forms and summaries.
To develop a CNE event, you must submit a contact hour request form listed here. Please note: the request form is to be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the proposed event date. Also, please be sure to submit the Nursing Education Needs Assessment in addition to the request form for any event you are requesting contact hours. Once your program is approved the assigned nurse planner provides the institutional oversight as required by the TNA, and he or she must be involved in all steps of the planning process. For additional guidelines and steps in the CNE process, please visit other pages within this site.
