Charlene M. Dewey, M.D., M.Ed., FACP was invited by Dr Darshana Shah, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development to visit Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine on August 28th, 2012 as an invited speaker. While there Dr Dewey spoke at three events. The first was the Internal Medicine Grand Rounds hosted by the chairman of the Department of Medicine, Dr. Dial. Her presentation was titled, “Creating a Culture of Professionalism.” Dr. Dewey then facilitated a 2-hour workshop titled, “Unprofessional and Distressed Resident Physician Behaviors” for Marshall’s residency review committee. To end the day, Dr. Dewey joined with the members of Marshall’s teaching academy for an informal discussion on learner assessments and professionalism.
