Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery
The surgeons involved in this center have extensive experience with thyroid and parathyoid surgery, including all forms of thyroid cancer. Recently, a procedure known as Minimally Invasive Parathryoid Surgery (MIP) with intraoperative PTH monitoring has been developed. Our surgeons are experienced in this procedure, and it is now being offered to appropriate patients with primary hyperparathyroidism. The procedure allows patients to undergo a parathyroidectomy using only IV sedation and local anesthesia, enabling patients to leave the hospital on the same day as their surgery. The Center performs about 500 neck operations a year.
Adrenal and Pancreatic Surgery
The surgeons involved have extensive experience in adrenal and endocrine pancreatic surgery. Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is available and is the generally preferred operative approach for adrenal tumors.
