Neuro-Ophthalmology
The Vanderbilt Eye Institute department of neuro-ophthalmology offers exceptional care for patients with all types of neuro-ophthalmic disorders. These include cerebrovascular, periocular, and paraneoplastic issues, as well as optic nerve diseases, double vision, thyroid eye disease, multiple sclerosis, and problems related to eye and facial movement, pupils, and eyelids.
While all neuro-ophthalmologists complete at least 5 years of clinical training after medical school, Vanderbilt is the only eye facility of its kind with 4 neuro-ophthalmologists who also have additional expertise and training in a complementary area of either ophthalmology or neurology. Our specialists have all competed 6-7 years of clinical training after medical school and are members of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. Our facilities include:
