Welcome to Vanderbilt Graduate Medical Education

VMC is an institution that has built a strong reputation as a leader in medical education of health professionals, research in medical science, and patient care throughout the Southeast.  The Office of Graduate Medical Education is committed to supporting the trainees, faculty, and staff in our many  residency and fellowship programs for new physicians.

Residency training began at Vanderbilt Medical Center with just 12 residents in 1925. Now VMC trains over 850 house staff in over 70 accredited specialty and subspecialty programs. VMC offers residency experiences in a major teaching facility with diverse patient populations, state-of-the art technology, cutting edge research, and outstanding faculty.  If you would like to apply for a residency or fellowship at VMC, please visit our applicants page.

Current house staff can order prescription pads and white coats, enter contests, and more at the House Staff Portal.

Residency and fellowship program coordinators can order SecureID tokens, etc. at  the Coordinators' Portal
