The Vanderbilt House Staff Alliance is a non-profit, social, and civic organization made up of the spouses and significant others of Vanderbilt interns, residents, and fellows. While seeking fun, friendship, and fellowship, we strive to be kind and give generously of ourselves to each other and to our community. We embrace diversity and are united in our efforts to provide a nurturing environment and a community of support.
As reflected by our mission statement, the Vanderbilt House Staff Alliance seeks to make the transition into residency and life at Vanderbilt as easy as possible for the significant others of the House Staff. Recognizing that moving to a new city and starting residency can be a difficult time, the Alliance provides a network of friendship and support for its members through a variety of activities and interest groups.
Throughout the year the Alliance hosts a number of monthly activities and interest groups that are as diverse as our members. Whether you are interested in making friends through our social events, participating in a children's playgroup, or joining a support group for medical marriages, the Alliance has something to offer everyone. Our monthly newsletter, Housecalls, will keep you up to date with all of the planned monthly activities such as the Sweetheart Social, Breakfast with Santa, Night at the Bluebird, a Cooking Class, and Season to Taste (a group that samples a new Nashville restaurant each month). The Alliance also provides a vehicle for our members to share their time and talents with those in need by supporting three very important Nashville philanthropies -- The Hospital Hospitality House, the Nashville Union Mission, and the Salvation Army.
Whatever your needs or interests are, there is a place for you here with The House Staff Alliance.
