Gilbert, James

James joined the Hamm lab in November of 2010 where he is mainly involved with designing new amino acid mutations in Galpha based on molecular models, expressing these new proteins in large quantities using bacterial vectors, and confirming conformation and functionality by artificially activating the protein using Aluminum Fluoride.

James is a native Nashvillian who graduated in 2009 from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Laboratory Investigation at Vanderbilt University.
