Dr. Moore's clinical interests include all aspects of liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as laparoscopic and open-donor nephrectomies and vascular access surgery. His research interests include studies of health related quality-of-life issues, cost effectiveness, and recipient and donor matching in solid organ transplantation.
During his residency at Vanderbilt, Dr. Moore also completed a Master of Public Health degree at the same time he completed a Roche Pharmaceutical Transplantation Fellowship in surgical research, 2002-04. In 2003, he received the Vanderbilt MPH Scholars Award, the H. William Scott Society Resident Research Award, and the New Investigator Research Award from the AHPBA Congress. He was recipient of the American College of Surgeons Excellence in Research Award in 2004.
Dr. Moore has presented programs to professional organizations on aspects of his work in the survival and quality of life following solid organ transplantation, and post-transplant graft survival in liver transplant recipients. He has authored articles in peer-reviewed journals that include Archives of Surgery, Surgical Endoscopy, the Journal of Surgical Research, and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.
