07/31/15 Meeting Update

Chief Hospital Epidemiologist, Tom Talbot, M.D., MPH met with MCSAC to discuss the current Vanderbilt Hand Hygiene program. Dr. Talbot's PC and MCSAC member Lakita Buchanan, will be our point-person for those considering joining the Hand Hygiene Observation Team. Clean Hands Saves Lives.

Vicki Sander, 2015 Grants Chair, presented this year's grant awards.  Detailed information forthcoming. Many thanks to VickiLynn Booker,Sally Ross, and Orrin Sumatra for serving on this year's grant committee. Job well done folks! We sincerely appreciate your time, efforts, and solid decision-making for this year's grant recipients.

  • Dr. Martin Rapisarda, Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences.  Dean Rapisarda is responsible for our MLAS program here at Vanderbilt; our answer for adults returning to school to earn their graduate degree.Council Member Vicki Youngblood Sander is a MLAS graduate and can offer us a first-hand account of this great Vanderbilt opportunity.

  • Jason Phillips - Jason works with Provider Support Services at the Villages at Vanderbilt (VAV) and developed our first online grants submission application for 2015 applicants.

  • Elizabeth H. Smith (Biz)  -    Biz is a registered nurse at our Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and works in DOT. Biz represents the clinical care component of our Council membership.

  • Adelaide Vienneau - Addie is our newest Council member and is the Manager for the Junior League Family Resource Center at MCJCHV.
