Needles & Pins Craft Fair - 2013 Dates TBA

The Council serves as a philanthropic organization to the Vanderbilt community by sponsoring an annual fundraiser - the Needles & Pins Craft Fair. Staff volunteer their time to coordinate, set up and work at the 2-day event. Portions of the funds raised through booth fees, on-line auction, baked goods, and the Chili Cafe, are donated to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to benefit the Employee Hardship Fund. Funds raised are also disbursed in response to grant applications submitted by the Vanderbilt community to benefit a variety of benevolent projects not otherwise covered by departmental budgets.  

the 25th Annual Needles and Pins was Oct. 4-5, 2012 and will include a food venue, a dessert bar and various crafts for employees, including parasol painting and sock monkey decorating. The event celebrated 25 years of employees helping other employees.

Grant Requests

2013 Grants have been awarded.  Please check back later in the year for 2014 application dates.

The Medical Center Staff Advisory Council (MCSAC) accepts applications for grant funds raised at its Annual Needles & Pins Crafts Fair and bake sale. These funds are granted to areas within the Vanderbilt Community that benefit staff, faculty, patients, and/or Vanderbilt affiliated community projects.

Please be informed that available funds are limited and that a percentage of total funds are allocated to the Employee Assistance Program (Employee Hardship Fund).  Requests for items that are routinely the responsibility of departmental funding will not be considered.
