Commuting Options

Carpooling

With the prices of gas rising and the push for becoming more environmentally concious greater, carpooling is an effective answer to both of these issues. Carpools also provide commuters the opportunity to share fuel costs, vehicle "wear and tear," and parking expenses.  In an effort to conserve the environement and provide alternative transportation methods for employees, VMC created a "Ride-Match" website that facilitates the identification of potential carpool partners. Vanpools

Vanderbilt offers the option of vanpooling when approximately 12 employees living in the same geographical area request a shared commute to work. As an environmental friendly commuting solution, vanpooling allows riders to share on gas costs, avoid "wear and tear" on their personal vehicles, and to save money on parking.  Vanderbilt Medical Center provides staff support, financial subsidies, and a "Ride-Match" website  to assist you in developing a vanpool. To access the Ride-Match website, log onto www.VMCRideMatch.com.
