Why would l get a boot?
Booting is used as a last resort for unpaid parking tickets that have not been paid in a reasonable amount of time. Employees at VUMC are given 14 days to appeal a ticket or to arrange payment for parking citations. At any time if you have 3 or more tickets, your vehicle may be booted. It is your responsibility to check and make sure your account is current on any balances due to citation fines.
You can check your account at any time by going to our website at www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/parking and clicking the “My Account” link on the right hand side. Once you log in with your VUnet ID, you will then be able to view citations along with your permit information.
Booting Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
“Boot removal instructions will be placed on your car when the boot is installed“
if you receive a boot between 7:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday please come to the Parking Permit Office located in the East Garage on the Ground Level in the lobby. Please bring your VUMC ID Badege, License Plate # and Driver's License. You will need to arrange payment in order to get the boot removed.
Booting “After Hours” 5:00pm - 7:00am Monday through Sunday
“Boot removal instructions will be placed on your car when the boot is installed“
If you have a boot on your car and it is “After Hours" between 5:00 pm - 7:00 am please call 936-1215 option #2 to have an enforcement officer come remove the boot. They will make a photo copy of your VUMC ID Badge and your Driver's License. You will also be asked to sign a boot removal agreement. The agreement states that you will make arrangements to pay for your outstanding citations on the next business day at the Parking Permit Office.
The boot cannot be removed until the enforcement officer has gathered all of the necessary documentation.
