Appeals are not granted for the following reasons:

  1. "Everybody else does it."
  2. "I was only there for...minutes."
  3. "I've been parking there for...months."
  4. "I did not know..."
  5. "I did not notice the sign."
  6. "I can not afford the fine."

Parking fines may be paid online at https://vmc.t2hosted.com/cit/index.aspx
To pay a fine in person, please contact the Parking Permit office at 936-1215 or come by our office at 1210 Medical Center Drive, in EAST Garage during our office hours Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

If fines are not paid within 30 days, action will be initiated for payroll deduction.

Appeal a Citation
Traffic citations issued by the Parking Permit office may be appealed online within 15 days to the VMC Parking & Transportation Services Administration.

To appeal a citation, please email VUMCParkingandTransportation@vanderbilt.edu  or visit the Parking Permit office. Or You can print a copy of our citation appeals form here. The appeals form must be filed in the Parking Permit Office, located in East Garage Ground Level.

In order to appeal, you will need to include either your citation number or your license plate number and state.

An appeal must be submitted within fifteen days of the issuance of the citation. Appeals are reviewed by the VMC Parking & Transportation Services Administration.  An appeal received by the deadline from any person will be considered. If an appeal is granted, paid fines will be reimbursed.
All decisions of the VMC Parking & Transportation Services Administration are final.
