Proteomics Methods Development & Applications

The focus of the Schey lab is on the use of mass spectrometry in proteomics and in protein structure determination. The lab is interested in both method/instrument development as well as in applications of state-of-the-art technology to biomedical science. Specific projects are focused on lens protein structure/function in aging and cataractogenesis, imaging mass spectrometry, biomarker discovery via exosome analysis, and shrimp & oyster innate immunity. Other areas of interest include ocular proteomics (retina and glaucoma), signal transduction and cardiovascular proteomics.
