Sherri studied Radio-TV-Film (RTF) in the College of Communications at the University of Texas, Austin. After moving to San Francisco, and inspired by its historic architecture, she became a part-time student while working full-time to earn a degree in Interior Architecture.
Before Vanderbilt, Sherri spent 16 years in animation production starting at a multi-media production company in San Francisco before moving “down South” to Los Angeles. She’s worked on projects for MTV, HBO, Walt Disney, and Disney Channel.
In 2000 she relocated to Nashville to be close to family and to pursue the dream of affordable housing. She stumbled upon Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a patient. Because she received such great care from her nurses, she decided to give back as a volunteer at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and pursue a full-time position.
In her role as Art Director, Sherri is proud to support nurses by making educational materials “pretty and fun” and managing www.vanderbiltnursing.com which is dedicated to VUMC's talented nurses (past, present, and future).
