Gloria’s nursing career began in 1971 in the United States Army Nurse Corps as a BSN graduate of East Carolina University. Later, she obtained her MSN from the University of Evansville (focus: Nursing Administration and Adult Med Surg) and DSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (focus: Nursing Education). Her career experiences have been numerous to include staff nurse, various management positions, and quality consultant and educator (hospital, outpatient and academia). Gloria joined Vanderbilt in 2007 to serve as the educator for Vanderbilt Medical Group Outpatient Surgery. She became a member of the Nursing Education and Professional Development Department in 2012.
Gloria enjoys antiquing, discovering historical family roots, and hosting international and national sewing machine events with her husband (retired Army pilot) of over 38 years. She has a son who is in the Air Force.
