Tracey graduated with her BSN in 1984 from Murray State University in Kentucky. She moved to West Tennessee to begin her nursing career with plans to stay one year, then move back home to Kentucky. She stayed for 16 years. She worked as a registered nurse in the perioperative arena and then was recruited into nurse recruitment. Tracey moved to the Nashville area in 2001 to be closer to family and has been at Vanderbilt since 2003. She has recruited for a variety of areas within Vanderbilt including Trauma, LifeFlight, Burn, SICU, NeuroSciences, Cancer Center, and Perioperative Services.
Tracey has been working with the Nurse Residency Program since its 2006 Pilot, where she works with the coordination of recruitment and the application/interview process. She feels very fortunate to have been a part of the Pilot for this program and to be housed within the Nursing Education and Professional Development Department with the rest of the NRP team.
Tracey's hobbies include walking the greenway trails, knitting, gardening, baking, and cooking with herbs from her garden. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and Maltese
