Clinical Orientation

WE HAVE MOVED!

        

 Clinical Orientation takes place in the 3401 West End Building in Suite 100. This building is on the purple shuttle route, and there is also a designated 3401 Express Shuttle that will run specifically on orientation days - from 6:30-8:30 am and 2:30-4:30 pm! Use this map to identify where to park and how to access the express shuttle. Please read below for additional info, and feel free to contact Megan Farmer for any questions you may have.

         

Clinical Orientation is designed for licensed and non-licensed clinical staff new to VUMC. Orientation is dependent on previous work experience, skill level, position, and unit/area.

       
   
Participants are provided the opportunity to review skills, participate in didactic and discussion sessions, and to learn Vanderbilt computer systems.

Human Resources New Staff Orientation

         

Date(s)

Twice monthly: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Computer classes take place on Friday (inpatient non-licensed staff only) and the following Monday (for inpatient licensed staff and all outpatient staff). Locations for these classes are announced during Clinical Orientation.

NOTE: The inpatient non-licensed computer class will now be held on FRIDAYS of Clinical Orientation weeks. Locations for all computer classes are communicated to participants before they check out on their last day of orientation.

Time(s)

Times on Tuesday through Thursday are 8:00-4:30 pm. Specific job roles have slight variances in itineraries. Please contact Megan Farmer regarding specific time frames per job role.

          

Location(s)

      

Parking is not available for participants at 3401 West End. Orientation participants are designated to park in the northwest corner of the N Lot - in area 73A. A 3401 Express Shuttle will take participants to 3401 during the hours of 6:30 am-8:30 am and will return them to the N Lot during the hours of 2:30 pm-4:30 pm. Please use this map to help you navigate to these areas.
