Wes Clark, M.D., Ph.D.

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Clark completed his M.D., Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. His Ph.D. work was completed in the department of Biochemistry at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His dissertation work focused on master eye gene regulators and their role in eye development and apoptosis.    He finished his neurology residency in 2010 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas (UT-Southwestern) and completed his neuro-oncology fellowship in 2011 from the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. 
In 2011, Dr. Clark joined the Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor in the neurology department and the neuro-oncology division. His clinical focus is in tumors of the central nervous system and he is an attending physician for general neurology and neuro-oncology. His research focuses on clinical trial development and translational work for tumors of the CNS including, glioblastoma, anaplastic glioma, low-grade glioma, meningioma, primary CNS lymphoma and brain metastasis.
