Matthew M. Pearson, MD

Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery

Dr. Pearson's clinical focus is pediatric neurosurgery including brain tumors, epilepsy, and movement disorders.

Education:
Dr. Pearson received his MD degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1995.

Postgraduate Training:
Dr. Pearson completed his internship training in Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN, in 1996. He continued his residency training in Neurosurgery at that institution between 1996 and 2002. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX in 2003.

Research Interests:
Cellular localization of the cation-chloride cotransporter, KCC3, within the central and peripheral nervous systems and choroid plexus.
