Department of Neurological Surgery

PETER J. MORONE, MD, began neurosurgical residency at Vanderbilt University in 2012 and is scheduled to finish in 2019.  He attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha.  During medical school, Dr. Morone studied placental mesenchymal stem cells and their ability to differentiate into neurons.  He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Indiana University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

During his spare time, Pete enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, snowboarding and scuba diving.  He also appreciates a wide variety of music and plays the guitar.
