Media Relations Policies and Procedures:

Vanderbilt Medical Center's reputation as a national leader in patient care, education, and research offers news media a wealth of expert resources on virtually any medically related topic. VUMC’s Office of News and Public Affairs responds to hundreds of media inquiries each year from reporters seeking information on clinical breakthroughs and research discoveries.
Please contact the Office of News and Public Affairs for assistance with interviews of the Medical Center's faculty or staff.

Advance notice of on-site interviews is requested so News and Public Affairs staff can arrange interviews with experts, or obtain appropriate patient permission if necessary.

In compliance with VUMC policy, and to ensure federal patient privacy standards are upheld for all hospital and clinic patients and their families, a staff member from News and Public Affairs must accompany all reporters and photographers while on the Medical Center’s property.

Members from the Office of News and Public Affairs who specialize in media relations are available to assist all news media with questions about the medical center, hospital patients, locating an expert spokesperson, or obtaining more information about a news release or event.

For all media inquiries please contact the Office of News and Public Affairs at (615) 322-4747.
