John Howser serves as Director of News & Communications.
Howser joined VMC in 1987 when he served as the Medical Center's staff photojournalist. Since then, he has assumed increasing responsibility as VUMC’s media relations director, assistant director and deputy director for the Office of News and Communications. Howser received a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism from Western Kentucky University and is a former newspaper photographer.
