Q:  What types of Nurse Residencies does VUMC offer?
A:  Vanderbilt University Medical Center has one Nurse Residency Program with tracks in:

  •  Adult Medicine
  •  Adult Progressive Care
  •  Adult Surgery
  •  Burn
  •  Critical Care
  •  Emergency
  •  Pediatrics
  •  Psychiatric Health
  •  Women's Health

 Q:  How often do you offer the Nurse Residency Program?
A:  We offer the Nurse Residency Program three times a year with cohorts starting in February, August and October..

Q:  How long is the Nurse Residency Program?
A:  The Nurse Residency Program lasts for one year and we ask that you commit to staying at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for one additional year after completing the program.

Q:  What is “placement” in the Nurse Residency Program?
A:  Each unit will determine how many positions will be filled through the residency program.
