Q: How often do you offer the Nurse Residency Program?
A: We offer the Nurse Residency Program twice a year with cohorts starting in January and July.
Q: How long is the Nurse Residency Program?
A: The Nurse Residency Program lasts for one year and we ask that you commit to staying at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for one additional year after completing the program.
Q: What is “placement” in the Nurse Residency Program?
A: Each unit will determine how many positions will be filled through the residency program. At the end of the first phase (rotational clinical experiences) of the residency, your unit preference and input provided by your preceptors and educators determines where you are matched. Your preference is not guaranteed but will be considered.
