Applying to the Nurse Residency Program

Beginning with the Winter 2013 cohort, Nurse Residency program applicants must have graduated with a BSN or MSN. All graduate nurse applicants with six months experience or less are hired through the Nurse Residency Program only. Information about changes in hiring criteria beginning with this cohort, can be found here.

	You must complete online application and resume via www.vanderbilt.jobs .
	Once the online application is complete, you will receive an email with detailed instructions and forms to complete.
	Ways to make the process easier
	Schedule the NCLEX for the earliest possible date. Nurse Residents moving from out-of-state are strongly encouraged to sit for the State of Tennessee NCLEX exam.
	All graduation requirements must be met (including the HESI or other exit exams) prior to the start date of the nurse residency program.

Important: Information for Current VUMC Staff

In addition to the above, current Vanderbilt University Medical Center staff must:

•	Complete the online application at www.vanderbilt.jobs.
•	Have a current manager/supervisor complete a reference form (included in the application packet), in addition to the two clinical faculty reference forms,
•	Provide a copy of a recent evaluation with a score of 3.0 or greater in each credo standard and key function, if it is available.
