What is the Difference in Partners In Health and Community Giving Campaign?

Partners In Health is the internal giving campaign at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. All gifts from faculty and staff directly benefit areas within the Medical Center.

The Community Giving Campaign provides faculty and staff the opportunity to give to the community at large.

I Am a Partner In Health

All contributions through the Partners In Health campaign directly benefit the work of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the impact of those dollars is powerful. Each of us makes a significant contribution to the increasing visibility of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, whether through teaching, treatment or research. We are leaders, and Partners In Health gives us an opportunity to lead by example. These are just a few examples of the impact Partners In Health is having on the Medical Center:

  • In March 2009, five residents in Emergency Medicine attended a conference in Arizona, showing a strong Vanderbilt presence. Their travel was made possible by the resident education fund, supported largely through Partners In Health.
  • The White Coat Sponsorship Fund received 124 gifts through the 2008 Partners In Health Campaign, totalling more than $12,000. The fund supports the School of Medicine's Advisory College, Student Wellness and Career Counseling programs, all vital to producing balanced professionals.

 “Supporting Partners In Health is a direct and tangible way to invest in ourselves. It’s a way of saying ‘we believe, individually and collectively, in what we are doing to improve our institution, our local community and our global community’. The timing for such an investment could not be more significant.”
~Carol Etherington, M.S.N., Assistant Professor, Nursing;
Director of Global Health Studies, Institute for Global Health

"Each of us makes a tremendous difference through the work we do. We all know the impact that a research discovery from one of us can have. The same is true with our gifts through Partners In Health."
~Susan Wente, Ph.D., Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research; Chair, Cell and Developmental Biology
